Instructions

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 180°C.

  • Step 2

In a small bowl add hazelnut spread and raspberries. Crush raspberries with the back of a spoon. Add nutmeg, mix well and set aside.

  • Step 3

Heat 2 Mission Original Super Soft Wraps in the microwave as per pack direction.

  • Step 4

Place both wraps on top of each other and fold in half, but do not press down on the fold – aim is to create a vertical "centre mark" to start cutting the tree shape.

  • Step 5

    (CUT ONE)

With a sharp knife or kitchen shearer, make a 25-degree diagonal cut from the top centre point to about 3/4 of the way down to the right edge of the wrap. This will create the side shape of the tree. Remove excess cut-off.

  • Step 6

    (CUT TWO)

From the bottom end of the diagonal that has been cut, make a cut towards the centre mark, leaving 2-3 centimetres clear from the centre point and then make a cut down to the end of the wrap. This will create the trunk shape of the tree. Remove excess cut-off.

  • Step 7

Open out the wrap to reveal a tree shape and place it on an oven tray lined with baking paper. Set aside top wrap. With the bottom wrap, spread hazelnut raspberry mix evenly then place top wrap directly on top of the bottom one.

  • Step 8

    (GUIDELINES)

Using the trunk of the tree as a guide, lightly score 1 line from the edge of the trunk to the top of the tree. Repeat for the other edge of the trunk. This is a guide for how far you will need to cut the branches.

  • Step 9

    (CUTTING THE BRUNCHES)

Using a pair of kitchen shearers, starting from the bottom edge of one side, cut horizontally a 2-3 centimetre thick "branch" stopping at the scored line previously created. Continue cutting even widths to the top of the tree. Repeat the step for the other side of the tree.

  • Step 10

Brush melted butter over the top wrap.

  • Step 11

Starting from one end, twist each branch 2-3 times until all branches are twisted. If some branches are difficult to hold twist add a small dot of hazelnut spread onto the baking paper to hold it down.

  • Step 12

Place into the oven for 8-10 minutes. Colour should be golden when ready.

  • Step 13

Transfer onto the serving board, lightly dust with icing sugar and serve.
