At Mission we believe that good food can take you places. From our humble beginnings as a small tortilla factory in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles to a global brand known around the world, we’ve always strived to help you explore the endless possibilities with our products

1949
GRUMA was founded in Cerralvo, Nuevo León, Mexico with the goal of providing Mexicans with easy access to their main dietary staple, the tortilla.
1977
GRUMA acquires the old MISSION Tortilla Factory located in San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.
1989
Mission continues to evolve to meet growing demand, acquiring additional brands and 10 plants in the US.
2004
MISSION successfully launches Carb Balance and begins expanding its Better-For-You line of products based on the premise of offering healthier options without compromising on flavour.
2010
MISSION transforms an old General Motors plan in Panorama City, CA into a LEED Gold certified tortilla plant that can prevent more than 1,300 metric tons of carbon emission annually.
2018
MISSION opens its new, state-of-the-art plant in Dallas, TX with the capacity to produce 30 million tortillas daily.
MEXICO
MISSION Mexico passionately delights consumers with the best tortillas, tostadas, baked products and snacks. We’re proud to be a part of family meals and gatherings, providing an authentic product experience for every moment.
CENTRAL AMERICA
MISSION launched in Costa Rica in 2005 and has since become the leading brand in the wheat tortillas market, offering a wide array of flatbreads, flavours and better for your products.
EUROPE
In 2000 MISSION expanded into the UK and quickly became Europe’s leading Flat Bread producer. The Simply Good line of products was successfully launched in 2018 with Sourdough and Linseed wraps.
CHINA
MISSION launched into China retail in 2014 and continues to introduce new products and build awareness of how to use our range of flatbreads and chips in everyday Chinese cuisine.
MALAYSIA
In 2011 MISSION launched into the Retail channel with a range of wraps and then in 2013 a range of Corn Chips. In a very short period of time MISSION products have made their way into the local consumers households as a staple to prepare quick, easy and healthy meals. In 2016 MISSION inaugurated its new manufacturing facility Enstek Techpark in Sepang Kuala Lumpur to accommodate our continuous growth in the region. In 2018 Kidzania Malaysia and MISSION partnered to introduce the MISSION brand to children as well as focusing on healthy eating and healthy living.
AUSTRALIA
2006 marked the start of the journey for MISSION in Australia with the acquisition of 2 Victorian based companies . We started construction of a world class manufacturing site in 2007 in Epping Victoria, laying the foundations to bring our global brand – MISSION, to Australia. In 2009 we entered the retail grocery market with a range of Bakery & Mexican products, and we partnered with the Western Bulldogs AFL team. Today MISSION is the leading wrap brand and is a household staple loved by Australians for the quality and taste they have grown to know and love.
RUSSIA
In 2017 MISSION opened a state-of-the-art tortilla/snacks factory and launched the MISSION Healthy Food Centre with Kidzania Moscow to help educate children and parents on how easy and healthy it is to make wraps.OUR LOCATIONS
